A packed church including a large number of his very extended family bid farewell to our former colleague Tony Smith in Minchinhampton at lunchtime today.

The club was represented by Mike Waring, Eric Wall, Alan Hunt, John Turton, John Cocks and Chas Levitt.  It was also good to see former members Alan Venn, Dave Thomas and young Roger Auster in the congregation as well as our old friend Ron Birch who was one of a few who remembered Tony’s playing days with The Commoners. (And had cycled to Minch up the hill from Stroud!)

It is hoped that a memorial game can be arranged for next season to include players from Minch, The Commoners and Woodchester.
