With the season well under way the 21 U9s are really enjoying their coaching sessions.  All of the players are showing great improvement in their batting, bowling and fielding skills. As evidenced by some really excellent performances by all of the 15 team members who played in the Painswick U9s Festival, resulting in their winning all three matches.

A mixed season so far – unfortunately three games lost to the weather and two to   opponents pulling out means we’ve only had one league match.

On the positive side, that means we’ve had a number of practice matches with everyone getting a bat and bowl and improving week by week.

The one game played was at home versus Stroud – a good match played in glorious sunshine. Stroud won in the end by 27 runs though Minch put up a good fight. Lucas Roberts-Davis hit the ball hard in the middle order, with capatain Oscar Hanahoe top-scoring with an undefeated 22.

Other than the wicket keeper – Lewis McDowall, who performed well – everyone bowled. The highlight was two wickets in two balls from Morgan Wallace. The hat-trick ball was on target but kept out by the Stroud batsman.

Here’s hoping for dryer Sunday mornings for the tail end of the season!
