Another resounding victory for Minch U11s

Dylan Hartley and Dom Bradshaw opened the batting on a beautiful sunny evening at Rockhampton. Dylan hit a full toss for 4 off his second ball, whilst Dom got a couple of singles round the fringes. Harry Cowan and Katie Harbord were the next pair up and whilst Harry was focussed on the boundaries, Katie kept the score ticking over with more singles. The last pairings of Billy Payne, James Sharpe, Tom Dangerfield and Teifon Johnson came to the crease with the intent to ‘smash everything’ and that’s exactly what they did. Tom and Taf in particular, took advantage of some poor fielding to bolster the final run total to 153 for the loss of only 2 wickets.

In the field Minch had a stranglehold on Rockhampton, with Billy, Tom, Taf and Dylan taking wickets in quick succession. Some particularly good fielding from Harry and Katie – who kept wicket – restricted the home side to a score of 84 for 5 off 16 overs.

A very convincing win – well done all!  Minch U11’s have now played 3, won 3.T
