Our former compatriot Ron Birch turned up at the Commoners event – but this time as a spectator.  Ron had been scorer in chief at the 8’s for many years but after his highly successful stint at Mighty Minch during our 2’s last promotion year, he moved to near Parkend ‘down the forest’.  Asked if he was still involved in cricket he replied “I’m scorer for Parkend two’s but I rarely do it as they are always short – so I play.”

This week he is playing for one of the Gloucestershire County Veteran’s sides in a KO game versus Kent.  Happily it’s at home.

Oh … no sign of the comb!
